Special Announcement : Changing pathways for LaterLearning.org

As we head into the last quarter of 2017, LaterLearning.org will be changing its approach and strategy while preserving our key charitable objectives as a  Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO).

Over the past five and a half years, with the support of our partners at Awards for All Scotland, Glasgow Housing Association (GHA), GCVS, A&M Scotland, Civicos Training, and many others we have achieved all of our initial objectives, and our Community Learning and Professional Programmes have been successfully  delivered to over 700 adult learners. Our Swapping Shoes and PASS ( Personal and Social Skills) have proved particularly popular in Community settings and  our professional programmes, including  Inspiring Confidence in Young People ( Tackling the Confidence Jigsaw ) and Overcoming Barriers to Employment Programmes have attracted strong interest from those who have devoted their careers to making peoples’ lives better.

We are shifting our strategy towards creating a portal for Adults who think the learning door was slammed in their faces at an early age, and that education and learning is out of their reach. We will aim  to provide information, guidance and advice on how they can get back into Adult Learning that is appropriate and useful, as well as promoting the idea that through confidence and self belief, great things can be achieved.

Our new project is entitled SCEAL ( Scottish Centre for Excellence in Adult Learning), and we are currently in discussion with partners to ensure that we adopt the best approach and practice to promoting better lives through Adult Learning Opportunities.

We will still continue to offer our own Community Adult Learning Programmes, but only on request, and in future these programmes will be provided free, (although we will request an affordable donation towards our costs). However we will neither be promoting these or applying for funding support. The funding trough is over stretched already and we are happy to remove our snouts from it !!!

Our professional Programmes will continue to be offered through one of our Learning Partners, and we will provide information on this shortly

Please keep watching our website as the SCEAL Project moves forward.
